Movie OTT is an intermediary under Indian law and operates a grievance redressal mechanism in accordance with Rule 3(2) of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.

When to file a grievance
Use this channel to report any content on Movie OTT that you believe is unlawful or violates Section 5 of our Terms of Use, including but not limited to:
- copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property infringement
- defamation, harassment, or invasion of privacy
- content that is obscene, paedophilic, or harmful to a child
- deepfakes or non-consensual intimate imagery of real persons
- content that misleads about its origin or constitutes patently false information
- impersonation, fraud, or financial deception
- any other content that violates Indian law or the IT Rules, 2021
How to file a grievance
Send an email to [email protected] with the following details:
- Your full name and contact information (email, optionally phone).
- The exact URL(s) on movieott.com where the disputed content appears.
- A description of the content and the specific reason it is unlawful or violates the Terms of Use.
- If reporting on behalf of someone else (e.g. a copyright holder), proof of authorisation.
- If reporting impersonation or non-consensual intimate imagery: a signed declaration confirming you are the affected person or their authorised representative.
- Any supporting documents (court orders, screenshots, links to original work, etc.).
What happens next
- Acknowledgement β within 24 hours, the Grievance Officer responds to confirm receipt and assign a reference number.
- Review β we evaluate the report against the Rules and our Terms of Use. We may ask for additional information.
- Action β for content covered by Rule 3(2)(b) (e.g. impersonation, non-consensual intimate imagery), we will remove or disable access within 24 hours of acknowledgement. For other categories, action is taken within 15 days.
- Resolution notice β once acted upon, we notify you of the outcome via the email you provided.
Appeal
If you are not satisfied with the resolution, or if no resolution is communicated within 15 days, you may file an appeal to the Grievance Appellate Committee (GAC) constituted by the Government of India under Rule 3A of the Rules. Details: gac.gov.in.
