Pritam composed the score — "Jab Talak," "Mashooqa," and "Tujhko" were released as singles ahead of the theatrical run. The script came together through collaboration between Luv Ranjan, Tarun Jain, and Adajania, with producers Dinesh Vijan, Luv Ranjan, and Ankur Garg shepherding the project through Maddock Films and Luv Films.

Rashmika Mandanna's Diya has to play a woman who knows all her relationship's fault lines but loves it anyway — which is harder than infatuation or clean heartbreak. Kriti Sanon's Ally, meanwhile, is the catalyst, not the antagonist. That requires restraint. Whether both land across the full 150 minutes is what audiences are discovering right now.
Shahid Kapoor, for his part, plays a man caught between two versions of his life rather than actively pursuing either — quieter than his usual romantic-lead register, which feels right for this material.
