Regan's career didn't really start with a slow burn — it kicked off with a lead role. Cast as Kahlan Amnell in *Legend of the Seeker*, the Sam Raimi-produced fantasy series that premiered in 2008, she stepped into a character drawn from Terry Goodkind's *Sword of Truth* novels and made her genuinely formidable. Two full seasons. The show ran through 2010, and while it wasn't a prestige-TV darling, it built a real audience and gave Regan a platform that she used well. From there, she moved into a stretch of television work that kept putting her in rooms with complicated women. On USA Network's *White Collar*, she played Rebecca Lowe — a character whose charm and apparent vulnerability masked something considerably darker, which is exactly the kind of role she can't seem to resist, and you can see why casting directors keep coming back to her for it. Then *Jane the Virgin* gave her Sin Rostro, a villain whose unmasking as the character Rose landed as one of the show's genuinely shocking moments across its run from 2014 to 2019. Over on Marvel's *Agent Carter* (2015–2016), she played Dottie Underwood — a Soviet-trained operative, essentially a Black Widow precursor — and brought a chilling, almost playful menace to the part that made her scenes the ones you'd rewind. Honestly, Dottie might be her best work on a pure scene-by-scene basis. She also appeared in *John Wick* (2014) and later took on Poison Ivy in *Batwoman* (2021–2022), adding a DC Arrowverse credit to an already genre-heavy résumé. The pattern across all of it — fantasy, spy thriller, telenovela-adjacent drama, superhero procedural — is that she gravitates toward characters who know more than they're letting on. Her forthcoming feature *Sarah's Oil* (2025) is the next chapter in what has been, by any measure, a consistently interesting career.
