Jacob Kraemer

Jacob Kraemer is a Canadian actor who's been quietly building one of the more interesting careers to come out of Ontario's film and television scene over the past two decades. Born in Toronto on May 19, 1990, and raised in Fonthill, Ontario (a small town that doesn't exactly scream 'Hollywood pipeline'), Kraemer broke into the industry at just 12 years old — landing a role in the CBS TV movie *The Elizabeth Smart Story* (2003) and earning a Young Artist Award nomination for Best Supporting Young Actor right out of the gate (Wikipedia). That's a strong opening move for anyone, let alone a kid from the Niagara region.

What's striking is how consistently Kraemer kept working through his teens, a period when a lot of child actors quietly disappear. His run as Ben Harrison across 27 episodes of the Disney/Family series *Naturally, Sadie* (2005–2007) made him a recognizable face for a generation of young Canadian viewers, and it earned him a second Young Artist Award nomination (IMDb). He followed that with a lead role as Jared 'Coop' Cooper in *Overruled!* (2009–2011), a Family series that won a Gemini Award — his third Young Artist Award nomination came with it, this time for Best Leading Young Actor.

Beyond those flagship roles, Kraemer has turned up in guest spots on *Degrassi: The Next Generation*, *Being Erica*, *Combat Hospital*, and *Condor*, and in features like *Old Stock* (2012) and *Pete's Christmas* (2013). He later studied film production at Ryerson University and has worked as both an actor and producer in Canadian film and television (LB Acting Studio).
