Nichols' professional credits trace back to around 2015, with an early appearance in American Virgin marking one of her first listed roles (IMDb). From there, the work came in steadily but not explosively — TV guest spots, independent films, the kind of resume-building that doesn't make headlines but keeps an actor sharp. The period from 2020 onward is where things shifted. She picked up recurring and guest roles across a run of genre television that's hard to dismiss: The Outsider, Creepshow, The Resident (where she played Tina Miller), and Echoes all appear in her credits, according to Rotten Tomatoes. That's a lot of different tones to hold — Stephen King adaptation, anthology horror, medical procedural — and she moved through them without getting typecast, which isn't easy. Then came Emergency (2022). Directed by Carey Williams and debuting at Sundance before landing on Amazon Prime Video, the film used its premise — a group of college students who witness a crisis and can't agree on what to do — to say something pointed about race, trust, and institutional failure. Nichols played Emma, one of the white students whose choices drive a lot of the film's tension. The 91% Rotten Tomatoes score wasn't just critical goodwill; it put the film, and its cast, in front of a much wider conversation. That same year she appeared as Maddie Price in Days of Daisy (2022), an independent feature that showed a different register entirely. In 2023, she joined the cast of The Boogeyman — the Rob Savage-directed Stephen King adaptation from 20th Century Studios — as Natalie, a role that put her in a wide-release studio horror film for the first time.
