Stanley White Jr. has built a career in that version. A U.S.-based stunt performer, driver, and actor, White has accumulated credits across a range of major studio productions and streaming series that would make most working professionals in the industry quietly envious, even if his name hasn't yet landed on a marquee. No verified public record documents where he was born or how he first came to the craft, so what we know about him lives almost entirely in the work itself. And the work covers a lot of ground.

His early visibility in the industry came through stunt work on Straight Outta Compton, the 2015 F. Gary Gray biopic that required a large, physically demanding ensemble of performers capable of recreating the kinetic energy of late-1980s Los Angeles. That's a film where the action isn't choreographed in the superhero sense — it's grounded, street-level, the kind of physicality that has to feel accidental even when it isn't. Getting placed on a project of that scale, with that level of scrutiny, suggests White had already demonstrated something worth trusting before the cameras rolled. It was the kind of early credit that opens doors without announcing itself.

What's striking is how deliberately White seems to have spread himself across genres rather than settling into any single lane. Horror-adjacent thriller, prestige drama, action blockbuster, superhero television — he's been inside all of it. His television stunt credits include Black Lightning, Marvel's Cloak and Dagger, The Purge, Your Honor, Interview with the Vampire, and BMF, a list that spans network, cable, and streaming and doesn't suggest a performer coasting on a single specialty. On the film side, Underwater, Emancipation, Civil War, and Twisters each demanded different physical vocabularies: deep-sea claustrophobia, period plantation geography, war-zone chaos, and storm-chasing spectacle. Hard to say if any single project represented a conscious pivot, but somewhere in that run, White also started accumulating acting credits alongside the stunt work — appearing on screen in NCIS: New Orleans, Queen of the South, Black and Blue (where he holds both stunt and cast credits on the same production), and the 2025 film Osiris.

The dual-credit pattern is worth pausing on. Performing stunts and appearing as an actor on the same project isn't unheard of, but it does reflect a particular kind of versatility — the ability to read a set both as a technician responsible for physical safety and as a performer responsible for character. Black and Blue, the 2019 thriller directed by Deon Taylor, is one example where White's name appears in both capacities. That kind of credit doesn't happen by accident. It happens because someone on set noticed something.

His most recent confirmed projects point toward continued momentum. Control Freak (2025) carries a cast credit, and Osiris — listed in the database here as a 2026 release — shows White again in a performance role, building on the acting thread that's been running alongside his stunt career for several years now. The 2025 Ryan Coogler film Sinners also lists him among its stunt credits, which places him on one of the more anticipated productions of that release window. Whether Osiris lands as a theatrical release or a streaming title, it represents the clearest signal yet that White isn't treating the acting work as a side project.
