The story of Horrible Bosses 2
When the story of Horrible Bosses 2 unfolds, we're back with Nick (Jason Bateman), Kurt (Jason Sudeikis), and Dale (Charlie Day)—the same trio who survived their nightmare bosses in the 2011 original. This time around, they've gone legit. They're launching their own business venture, a product called the "Nightmare Boss" — which, fine, that's pretty meta. But then the investor backing their dreams, a slick billionaire named Bert Hanson (Christoph Waltz), decides to screw them over on the deal. No product launch, no funding, no future. So what do three ordinary guys do when they're desperate and angry? They hatch a plan that's equal parts stupid and criminal: kidnap Bert's son and extort the old man for cash. It's a premise that hinges entirely on how much you buy into the chaos of three amateurs trying to pull off a felony. The movie doesn't pretend to be subtle about it—it's a raunchy comedy that leans hard into the slapstick and the absurd.
